CONCERT • PEIXE E LIMAO
If Brussels had an emblematic musical genre, like fado in Lisbon or tango in Buenos Aires, it would probably sound like Peixe e Limão. With their warm and melancholic voices, the trio sings about urban themes in several languages, reflecting the soul of the European capital — a true crossroads of sounds, flavors, and cultures. Like the world city that Brussels is, this adventurous trio spices up its repertoire with influences from elsewhere: from bossa to flamenco to Irish folk, in deeply personal songs.
The personalities of the three musicians complement each other perfectly. Federico Bragetti plays the cello in a unique way, using it not only as a melodic or bass instrument but also as percussion, adding remarkable depth to Peixe e Limão’s sound textures. His fellow Italian Flavia Clementi, a singer at heart, began singing spontaneously but possesses that rare natural musicality and vocal warmth that instantly captivates. Finally, Thomas Van Bogaert from Bruges, a classically trained guitarist, has the art of weaving melodies that linger in your mind.
