Manouche jazz is a genre that reflects the stylistic influences of Gypsy, Manouche, and Central European music (klezmer), as well as musette and French chanson in jazz, which arrived in Europe from the United States in 1932.
The term klezmer refers to the instrumental music of the Jewish communities of Central Europe between the 16th and early 20th centuries.
It is inspired by the melodic motifs of liturgical singing, enriched with harmonies and rhythms to accompany traditional dances.
